Where to Celebrate a Birthday in BGC with Ten People

The answer to where to celebrate a birthday in BGC with ten people is a sharing dinner at Bolero, COCHI or Locavore, three BGC restaurants that take big groups. After dinner the night can move to a comedy show at Uptown Parade and then to The Palace, where the clubs run to 4am. Book in that order too, because dinner is the stop that has to hold all ten.

Book dinner first

Settle dinner before anything else: ten people at one table is the hardest part of the night to arrange.

Bolero is the natural first call. It serves Spanish food in large sharing portions and holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Sharing portions suit a birthday: nobody orders alone, and the bill divides by ten without a spreadsheet.

COCHI does modern Filipino cooking, also with a Bib Gourmand. It is the choice when the celebrant wants Filipino food with a modern turn.

Locavore is a Filipino restaurant at Forbes Town with indoor and alfresco tables, listed as Michelin Selected. Forbes Town is an easy pin to send, which helps when ten people arrive from ten directions.

All three run ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head. That is ₱5,000 to ₱15,000 for the table, as a planning range and not a quote.

When booking, ask four things: whether ten can sit at one table, whether a deposit is needed, whether a cake can be brought in, and how long the table is held.

Then the show

Brick Wall Comedy Club at Uptown Parade is the home base of Comedy Manila. It runs stand-up, open mics and trivia nights, it is indoors, and it costs ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head.

Ask whether ten seats together can be held, and buy the tickets in one go so the group is not scattered across the room. Check which night is stand-up, which is an open mic and which is trivia before fixing the date. More on choosing between them is in comedy night in BGC.

Then The Palace, if the group still has legs

BGC bars close at 1am or 2am, while the clubs at The Palace in Uptown run to 4am. So the late option exists, and it sits in the same part of BGC as the comedy club.

Get the door charge, the table minimum and what each includes in writing before telling the group a number. The questions to ask are listed in the group night at The Palace page.

For a seated end to the night, Medusa at The Palace is a theatrical dining lounge in the same complex, ₱1,500 and up a head. Ask whether it can seat ten before promising the group a table.

The booking order

  1. Dinner table for ten. Two weeks out if possible.
  2. Comedy seats. Once the date is fixed and the schedule is known.
  3. Club table. Last, and only after a written quote.
  4. A head count the day before. Ten confirmed in a group chat is usually eight at the table.

The budget per head

  • Dinner: ₱500 to ₱1,500.
  • Comedy: ₱500 to ₱1,500.
  • The Palace: whatever the club quotes.

Without the club, that is ₱1,000 to ₱3,000 a head, which matches the ₱1,200 to ₱3,000 a typical BGC night runs. Decide early whether the group is treating the celebrant, and say so in the invitation.

Rain, and what BGC does not have

Everything here is indoors except Locavore's alfresco tables, so ask for an indoor table if rain is likely. The malls, including Uptown, cover the gaps between stops.

If singing is the whole idea, plan around Cubao instead. Timezone at Gateway Mall 2 has private karaoke rooms, short-lane bowling and arcade games, and it takes party bookings. The full plan is in a Cubao birthday for ten under ₱800 a head.

The planner covers Cubao now and BGC is next; see which areas are live. The general method is in birthday celebration ideas in Manila.

Questions

Which BGC restaurants can take a birthday group of ten?
Three take big groups: Bolero, COCHI and Locavore. Ask for ten seats at one table when you book.
How much does a birthday dinner in BGC cost per person?
All three group restaurants run ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head, which puts dinner for ten between ₱5,000 and ₱15,000. A full BGC night runs ₱1,200 to ₱3,000 a head.
Is there karaoke or an escape room for a birthday in BGC?
No karaoke bar or escape room turned up for BGC, so this plan uses a comedy show at Brick Wall Comedy Club as the activity. For private karaoke rooms, see the Cubao plan linked below.
