Okada Fountain Show: Schedule and a Date Around It
The fountain show at Okada Manila is free and runs every 30 minutes from 7 PM, and from Friday to Sunday it keeps going until midnight. Build the date as dinner first, two shows with a walk in between, then the free-entry revue at The Coral Lounge inside the same resort.
The schedule
- Start: 7 PM.
- Frequency: every 30 minutes.
- Friday to Sunday: shows run to midnight.
- Monday to Thursday: check Okada's own page for the last show before a weeknight trip.
- Price: free.
The show is outdoors, so a wet night can spoil it. Keep the indoor half of this plan as the main event if the forecast is bad.
One point on geography, because it is easy to assume otherwise: Okada Manila is in Entertainment City, Parañaque. It is not in Pasay and it is not at MOA. Expect a ride between the complexes on this side of the bay.
Dinner before the first show
Dinner happens at another resort or at MOA, and either way the plan needs a ride.
The resort version. Two restaurants in Entertainment City cost ₱1,500 and up a head. Finestra at Solaire is known for steak Florentine and fresh pasta. Nobu Manila at City of Dreams is a new-style Japanese restaurant, and its brunch has been priced at ₱4,388. A night at the resorts typically runs ₱2,500 to ₱6,000 a head or more.
Solaire, City of Dreams and Okada are separate resorts, all in Parañaque. Allow for a ride between dinner and the fountain.
The budget version. Eat at MOA first, where the Filipino kitchens run ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head, then ride over. Those are sorted in MOA restaurants by budget. With a free show at the other end, this is the cheapest version of the night.
Two shows and the gap between
A show every half hour changes how the evening feels. Missing one costs 30 minutes, not the night, so nobody has to hurry through dessert.
A workable order:
- Arrive a few minutes before a show on the hour or half hour. Any slot from 7 PM works.
- Walk the resort for the half hour between.
- Watch a second show from a different spot. The second viewing is the one where you stop filming and look.
From Friday to Sunday the midnight finish means a late dinner still leaves two or three shows to choose from. On other nights, find out the last show first.
Afterwards: the revue, the beach club or a quiet drink
Rendezvous at The Coral Lounge is a revue with showgirls and acrobats. Entry is free and drinks are paid, which makes it the low-commitment way to keep the night going. Ask at the resort when the next performance starts before settling in.
Cove Manila is Okada's indoor beach club, which also hosts concerts. It is loud and runs late, at ₱1,500 and up a head. Go if dancing is the point. Skip it if the two of you are still talking.
For a quieter finish, Waterside Restobar at Solaire serves cocktails with a pool view. It is a different resort, so it is one more ride.
What the night costs
- Fountain: free.
- Revue: free entry, paid drinks.
- Dinner at a resort: ₱1,500 and up a head.
- Dinner at MOA instead: ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head.
- Rides between complexes: budget for at least two, there and back.
Make it part of a longer evening
Sunset comes before the first show, and the free places to watch it are in where to watch the Manila Bay sunset near MOA. For a theatre night instead of a fountain, see a show night at Newport.
