Bars in Cubao: Dive Bar, Taproom, Speakeasy, Rooftop

The best bars in Cubao are Fred's Revolucion, Cubao X Brewery and INT.Bar in Cubao Expo, plus the rooftop at The Edge Skyview Bar on the Gateway side. The two clusters are about a 12-minute walk apart, so choose one for the night and keep the other for the next.

Cubao Expo: dive bar, taproom, speakeasy

The dive bar. Fred's Revolucion is at Shop 66, with craft beers and Ho Chi Wings, and Rappler named it in its 2019 list of LGBTQ+ safe spaces. It is loud, it runs under ₱500 a head, and it is closed Mondays. Check its page for tonight's hours before you build a night around it.

The taproom. Cubao X Brewery is an open-air microbrewery taproom on two floors, open from 3 PM to midnight daily. Order the Kiamoy Sour, the Fairy Pale Ale or the Mt Choffee Milk Stout. There is no kitchen, so food comes in from the neighbours. Ichiban Takoyaki is in the same compound and stays open until midnight from Monday to Thursday and 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Open-air also makes the taproom the wrong pick in a downpour.

The speakeasy. INT.Bar is behind a photobooth door. The cocktails are named after films, Tuesdays are movie nights and weekends bring DJ sets. It shares its space with the daytime café, and the pair is open daily from 9 AM to 12:30 AM. It takes reservations and runs under ₱500 a head.

The vinyl shop with a bar. Good Vibrations Records is a vinyl shop with a listening room and a small bar, open 1 PM to 10:30 PM, Tuesday to Sunday. Treat it as a first drink while someone digs through the crates, not as the main stop.

Gateway: rooftop, whisky and wine

The rooftop. The Edge Skyview Bar is a pool bar on Level 22 of ibis Styles, with a deck for the skyline and the sunset. It opens at 5:30 PM, takes reservations and costs ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head. Order the Edge Smash Burger if you want something to eat.

The whisky bar and the wine room. Both are inside the World Kitchens food hall on Level 4 of Gateway Mall 2. The Whisky Bar pours whisky and highballs, including a Butter Beer and a Salted Caramel Pineapple. World Cellar is a wine room with space for up to 4,000 bottles, opened in January 2026. The food hall around them closes at 10 PM from Sunday to Thursday and 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and from Monday to Thursday it shuts between 3 PM and 5:30 PM.

The hotel bars

Novotel, beside the Coliseum, has two. The 6th Manila is the pool bar, and in the evening it turns into a club with music and dancing by the pool. It is loud. Gourmet Bar by Novotel is the ground-floor lobby lounge for coffee, snacks and cocktails, and the calmer of the two.

Building a barkada night

For six or more, anchor the night on the taproom. It takes big groups and runs until midnight. It has no kitchen, so eat first. The speakeasy and the rooftop both take reservations; book one of them if the group wants a table waiting, and give the head count when you do.

A route that uses both clusters: start at the rooftop when it opens at 5:30 PM, then take the walk to Cubao Expo, about 12 minutes. Pick up takoyaki on the way in and settle at the taproom until it closes. Mondays are the weak night, with the dive bar and the vinyl shop both closed.
