Museo del Galeón Date: What to Know and What to Pair
Museo del Galeón opened on 1 May 2026 at Seaside Blvd corner Sunset Ave in the MOA Complex, and its centrepiece is a full-scale 17th-century galleon that visitors board. For a first date, pair it with coffee at Bo's Coffee and the free viewing decks of MOA Sky at sunset, and keep dinner as the optional third stop.
The basics
- Opened: 1 May 2026.
- What is inside: a full-scale 17th-century galleon, and you go aboard.
- Where: Seaside Blvd corner Sunset Ave.
- Entry: ticketed, at about ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head.
- Setting: indoors.
The museum is new, so ticket prices and opening hours may still be settling. Check its own page for both before fixing a meeting time, and buy tickets ahead if that is offered.
Why a ship works for a first meeting
A first date needs something to look at that is not each other. A museum provides that, and a ship you can walk onto goes one better, because there are stairs to climb and corners to find. Conversation comes easily when both people are pointing at the same thing.
It also has a natural end. When the visit is over, the date can stop there without anyone having to invent a reason.
The order: museum, coffee, rooftop
- The museum first. It is the ticketed stop with fixed hours, so everything else bends around it. It is indoors, so rain does not matter. Aim to finish about an hour and a half before sunset.
- Coffee at Bo's Coffee. It is a branch of the local coffee chain inside SM MOA, at under ₱500 a head. This is where the two of you find out whether there is more to say once the exhibits are gone.
- MOA Sky for sunset. The mall's rooftop park is free, with viewing decks, a 1 km track and an amphitheater. Take a slow lap of the track, then pick a deck.
All three are in the MOA Complex, which is walkable inside. Leave a margin between stops and do not book anything to the minute.
If the sky is clear and neither of you wants to go home, the Seaside Blvd esplanade is the same sunset at water level.
If it is going well: dinner
Two kitchens inside SM MOA cost ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head and suit a table for two.
Café Adriatico is a bistro serving adobo rice and palabok. The Aristocrat serves chicken barbecue and java rice, and the restaurant dates from 1936. Neither needs a long menu discussion, which helps at the end of a long first meeting.
For less, Army Navy has burgers and burritos with a Manila Bay view at under ₱500 a head.
If it rains, or it is not going well
Rain. The museum, the coffee and dinner are all indoors. Only the rooftop and the esplanade depend on the weather, so swap step 3 for an early dinner. Almost everything at MOA is indoors, which makes it the most rain-proof of the four areas.
Not going well. The exit is after the coffee. The museum has already given the date a beginning, a middle and an end, so leaving after one drink is not abrupt. Say thank you and go.
What it costs for two
- Museum: about ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head, so ₱1,000 to ₱3,000 for two.
- Coffee: under ₱500 a head.
- Rooftop and esplanade: free.
- Dinner, if it happens: ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head.
Where next
The planner covers Cubao now, and the Pasay Bay Area is next; the areas page shows what is live. The first-date shape used here, one capped meeting and one optional bite, is explained in the first date guide. For other ways to spend the same afternoon, see things to do in MOA and where to watch the Manila Bay sunset near MOA.
