If the search is "chill place near me" and the plan is to hold one table until closing, choose the table by its closing time. In Cubao Expo, Silingan Coffee serves coffee and simple rice meals from 9 AM to 11 PM daily, and The Brewman Coffee lends board games and books until 11 PM from Tuesday to Sunday.

How the quiz picks a Tambay Loyalist

Three answers: "Slow and easy" for the pace, "The sure thing" or "Something a bit different" on the second question, and "Something to do with our hands" for what makes a good night, the one that mentions bowling, arcades and a mic. The room can be any of the three. Answer the second question with "The place nobody's posted yet" instead and the result is a Game Night Menace. Put together, the quiz reads that as an easy pace, nothing too new and something to do with your hands. A deck of cards on a café table counts as hands-on.

The Tambay Loyalist page says it plainly: one good spot, no agenda, stay until closing. The night is coffee that turns into dinner at the same table. It is one of the eleven archetypes and describes a way of spending an evening, nothing about who is spending it.

Cubao tables, sorted by closing time

• 12:30 AM: EXT.Cafe and INT.Bar share one space, listed as open daily from 9 AM. The café side is quiet and takes reservations; ask when it turns into the bar.
• Midnight: Cubao X Brewery, an open-air taproom on two floors, from 3 PM daily.
• 11 PM: Silingan Coffee, from 9 AM daily, quiet, no alcohol.
• 11 PM, Tuesday to Sunday: The Brewman Coffee, from 10 AM. On Mondays it runs from noon to 8 PM.
• 10:30 PM, Tuesday to Sunday: Good Vibrations Records, a vinyl shop with a listening room and a small bar, from 1 PM.
• 9 PM or 10 PM: the mall cafés, including Mary Grace Cafe, UCC Park Café and Cong Caphe. They close at 9 PM from Monday to Thursday and on Sunday, and at 10 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Gourmet Bar by Novotel is a ground-floor lobby lounge for coffee, snacks and cocktails; check its own page for hours. The Cubao Expo tables are about 2 minutes apart on foot, so a move, if one ever happens, is short.

Three ways to stay at one table

Coffee, then rice. Silingan Coffee is the literal version of the archetype's night: coffee and simple rice meals on one menu, fourteen hours a day. It is staffed by families of drug-war victims. Arrive at 4 PM and dinner is the same table.

Coffee, then cocktails. At EXT.Cafe the room changes around the table. It is a café by day and a speakeasy by night, with cocktails named after films. Coffee was ₱180 in 2024, and the bar side costs under ₱500 a head.

Beer, and dinner comes over. Cubao X Brewery has no kitchen, so food is brought in from the neighbours. Ichiban Takoyaki is in the same compound and open from 3 PM, 2 PM on Sundays. One person fetches takoyaki while the rest keep the table. Start with the Kiamoy Sour. The taproom also takes big groups, so it is the answer for a barkada of six or more.

For a pair or a table of four, The Brewman Coffee is the one with board games and books to borrow.

A short Saturday. If the evening needs a little shape before the long sit, start with Ichiban Takoyaki at 6 PM, spend half an hour in Pablo Galleries before it closes at 7 PM, take a photo at the convex mirror, then settle in at Silingan Coffee from 7 PM until whenever. Everything before the coffee is optional.

At 3 AM, Farmers Garden still has its flower shops open, though it sells flowers, not breakfast.

Somewhere to sit in the other areas

Makati. Omotesando Koffee at Greenbelt 2 is the daytime seat. After dark, OTO in Poblacion is a listening bar with vinyl, DJ sets and cocktails, open until 1 AM, and Bibio is a natural wine bar. In Salcedo, Kodawari is an izakaya open until 11 PM and Pablo Bistro serves tapas, paella and sangria until midnight.

BGC. Locavore at Forbes Town has indoor and alfresco tables, and No Entry is a bar named in Tatler's Best Bars 2026.

Pasay Bay Area. Bo's Coffee is inside SM MOA. The free options are outdoors: the esplanade on Seaside Blvd and MOA Sky, the rooftop park. For a long drink, C Lounge at the Conrad is open to midnight and to 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, and The Whisky Library at Newport World Resorts has more than 240 whiskies.
