Affordable Restaurants in BGC: A Date for Two on ₱1,000

Affordable restaurants in BGC do exist: a budget night can run about ₱250 to ₱400 a head, and Greenlight Burgers is the one restaurant here under ₱500 a head. A date for two on ₱1,000 works when dinner there is the only thing paid for and the rest of the evening is the free ArtBGC mural walk and a stroll down High Street.

BGC is not a cheap district: a typical night runs ₱1,200 to ₱3,000 a head. This plan is the exception, and it holds only if the rules below are kept.

Where the ₱1,000 goes

• Dinner for two: up to ₱1,000, under ₱500 a head.
• Mural walk: free.
• High Street stroll: free.
• Everything else: not tonight.

Look at the menu before ordering, agree on a ceiling, and leave the extras alone if the total is getting close.

Stop one: the free walk

Start with the murals while there is still light. They are street works on two mapped routes, one of 10 pieces and one of 12, between Burgos Circle and Serendra. Outdoors, free, no ticket and no booking.

Take the 10-work route if dinner is waiting, or both if neither person is hungry yet. Some works have been decommissioned, so the map will sometimes point at a wall that has changed.

Walking first has a practical side. It builds an appetite, and it gets the weather-dependent part done before dark.

Stop two: dinner under ₱500 a head

Stop three: High Street, for nothing

BGC is a walkable grid built around an open-air High Street spine. After dinner, that is the third stop: a slow walk with nowhere to be.

It is the one stretch of the evening with no menu, no map and no clock, and it is where a date that is going well gets to keep going for free.

What breaks the budget

Knowing what not to add matters as much as the plan.

• Any bar. The BGC bars start at ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head. One round at Bank Bar would take the whole ₱1,000 or more.
• The gondola. The ride at Venice Grand Canal was ₱500 a person in 2023 and 2024, so about ₱1,000 for two, and a little more now, before the fare to McKinley Hill, a short ride from the BGC core and not a walk.
• The museum. The Mind Museum is under ₱500 a head and closes at 6pm. Two tickets and two dinners can add up to more than ₱1,000, so it suits a different night.
• A Bib Gourmand dinner. The four in BGC run ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head.

With ₱2,000 to ₱3,000 instead, keep the free walk and upgrade the meal. Em Hà Nội is known for phở gà and nem rán, and Los Tacos MNL for tacos made with Oaxacan technique. If it rains

This is the fragile part. Two of the three stops are outdoors, and rain is the weak point of BGC in general. The malls (Uptown, Mitsukoshi, SM Aura, One Bonifacio) are the cover.
