Gateway Cinema Date: Dinner and a Recliner Movie

A Gateway cinema date comes in two versions, both on Level 4 of Gateway Mall in Cubao: Wolfgang's Premiere Lounge, a dine-in cinema where the ticket includes a burger or sandwich, or a regular screening at Gateway Cineplex 18 with dinner before it. The dine-in ticket was ₱990 in 2025, so the film and the meal for two come to ₱1,980 before drinks.

The dine-in version, costed

Wolfgang's Premiere Lounge is cinemas 13 and 14 on Level 4 of Gateway Mall 2. The seats are La-Z-Boy recliners, and it is a dine-in cinema, so dinner happens in the seat. The ticket is Ticket with a burger or sandwich (₱990 in 2025).

For two people:

• Two tickets with a burger or sandwich each: ₱1,980 at the 2025 price
• Drinks and anything extra from the menu: extra
• Dessert afterwards at a counter downstairs: under ₱500 a head

At ₱990 a head, that puts the evening in the ₱500 to ₱1,500 range. It also removes the usual movie-date problem, which is choosing between a rushed dinner before and a closed mall after. The price is a year old, so expect it to have moved a little.

It works for a night when one of you is not drinking.

The regular version

Gateway Cineplex 18 is an 18-screen cinema with Dolby Atmos and recliner seats, spread across Level 4 of Gateway Mall 1 and 2. Ticket prices change by film and by seat, so check the schedule and the price before you book dinner.

Dinner has to be planned around it. Two places make that easy:

• World Kitchens is on the same level, a food hall of 15 show kitchens at ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head. From Monday to Thursday it is closed between 3 PM and 5:30 PM and then runs until 10 PM.
• Grace Park, on the ground floor of Gateway Mall 2, cooks Filipino farm-to-table food from 10 AM to 11 PM daily.

Timing around mall hours

Araneta City's mall hours end at 9 PM from Sunday to Thursday and 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Allow about 130 minutes for a film. Put those together and a 7 PM weeknight screening lets out after most of the mall's kitchens have shut.

So for a regular screening, eat first:

• 5:30 PM: dinner at the food hall, as it reopens
• 6:45 PM: a photo and a dessert on the way up
• 7:15 PM: the film
• 9:30 PM: out, with two places still open

Those two places are Grace Park, until 11 PM, for a late plate or a drink, and Paeng's Gateway Bowl on Level 3, one floor below the cinema, where the lanes run until midnight.

Move the rest of the timeline to fit whichever screening you pick.

Small stops before the trailers

Gateway Mall 2 has several ten-to-fifteen-minute stops that fit between dinner and the film. All keep mall hours.

Quantum Skyview is an atrium under an LED ceiling on Upper Ground B, free and good for a quick photo. On the same level, Caramia Cakes & Gelato has cakes and gelato and Puffy's Souffle Pancake Cafe does soufflé pancakes. On the ground floor, the Che Buono gelato counter is a ten-minute stop.

With more time, Timezone Gateway 2 on Level 3 has arcade games and photo booths. It closes with the mall, so it belongs before the film, never after.

When to pick which version

Pick the dine-in cinema when the film is the whole plan, when it is a weeknight and the kitchens will be shut by the credits, or when the weather is bad and one stop is better than three.

Pick a regular screening when dinner is the part that matters. It leaves room for a proper meal at a table, and conversation, which a cinema seat does not.

Either way, the entire date is indoors and inside Gateway.
