Speakeasy Makati: The Blind Pig and the Red Door at Creekside

For a speakeasy in Makati, start with two doors in the business district: The Blind Pig, behind a door with a Braille sign at Windsor Tower on Legazpi St, and Big Fuzz, behind a red door on the second floor of Creekside Mall. Do both in one evening, with dinner first and the red door before the Braille one.

The two doors

The Blind Pig is at Windsor Tower, 163 Legazpi St. It is billed as Manila's first speakeasy, and the sign on the door is in Braille. It is indoors, runs late and costs ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head.

Fat Cat / Big Fuzz is a pair of cocktail bars on Amorsolo in Legazpi. Big Fuzz is the hidden half: it sits behind a red door on the second floor of Creekside Mall. The pair is named in Tatler Best Bars 2026, and it also runs ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head.

Finding the door is half the fun of a bar like this, but turning up to a locked one is not. Check each bar's own page for tonight's hours before you go.

Which door first

Start at the red door. The Blind Pig is the bar that runs late, so it makes the safer last stop of the night.

Starting at Creekside also gives the night a spare. If Big Fuzz is full, its pair, Fat Cat, is on Amorsolo too, so the first stop does not collapse.

Pin both on the map before dinner and decide on the night whether the hop between them is a stroll or a short ride. The villages have shaded sidewalks and parks, but they are only moderately rain-proof, so carry an umbrella in the wet months. Both bars are indoors once you are through the door.

Dinner before

Kitchens in the business district close at 10 to 11pm, earlier than the bars, so dinner comes first. These tables are nearby in the district:

  • Taquería Franco in Salcedo: French-accented tacos with a Michelin Bib Gourmand, open to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Kodawari in Salcedo: an izakaya known for gyudon, Michelin Selected, open until 11pm.
  • Manam at the Triangle at the Ayala Triangle: Filipino comfort food with twists, with a Bib Gourmand.
  • People's Palace near Greenbelt Park: Thai, with a vegetarian menu, Michelin Selected.

The first three run ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head, and the fourth is ₱1,500 and up. None of them is in Legazpi, so allow for the trip over.

A longer version of the night

The Blind Pig pairs well with a daytime stop: pre-colonial gold at Ayala Museum, then the Braille door after dark. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm, so the order is museum by 4pm, dinner at 7pm, bars from 9pm. The museum half is in a museum date with dinner after.

On a dry evening, Washington SyCip Park is a garden with art installations in Legazpi Village, free to enter, and a place to walk before the first drink.

What the night costs

Two bars at ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head and a dinner in the same range keep the evening inside what the business district usually costs: roughly ₱1,200 to ₱3,500 a head. Choosing People's Palace for dinner pushes the night toward the top of that range.

More hidden doors

Poblacion has cocktail bars with list placings of their own, The Spirits Library and Run Rabbit Run among them, covered in the Poblacion bar crawl.

For more doors, the two BGC speakeasies are a convenience-store front and a room inside a hotel, and Cubao has a bar behind a photobooth door. If this is your kind of night in general, the planner's name for it is the Hidden-Door Hunter.

The night-out planner covers Cubao now, and Makati is next. The areas page shows what is live.
