Valentine's Date Ideas in Manila Beyond the Set Menu

The Valentine's date ideas that hold up in Manila lead with an activity and treat dinner as the second stop: a 3D art museum or bowling in Cubao, a mural walk in BGC, a museum or a morning market in Makati, a galleon to board or a free fountain show by the bay. Pick the area first, then the budget, then check which day of the week the 14th lands on, because closed days decide more than the menu does.

Why the activity goes first

A set menu fixes the price, the pace and the table. An activity fixes none of them. It gives two people something to do with their hands and something to talk about over whatever dinner follows, at whatever price suits.

On timing, decide a few weeks ahead, because the day of the week the 14th falls on decides what is open.

Cubao

Under ₱500. Paeng's Gateway Bowl has 24 lanes and six billiard tables and is open until midnight, so it also works after dinner. Gateway Gallery tells Philippine history through art, free, from 10 AM to 6 PM. Flowers come from Farmers Garden, where the shops are open 24 hours.

₱500 to ₱1,500. Art in Island is an interactive media art museum built around 3D art and projections. It opens at 11 AM and closes at 6:30 PM from Tuesday to Friday and 7:30 PM at weekends, and it is closed on Mondays. It is on 15th Ave, a short ride from the malls. Wolfgang's Premiere Lounge is a dine-in cinema where the food comes with the seat: Ticket with a burger or sandwich (₱990 in 2025).

Dinner after. Bellini's is an Italian kitchen in Cubao Expo that takes reservations through its Facebook or Instagram page and closes at 9:30 PM. Habanero Kitchen Bar is open to 10 PM, or 11 PM from Friday to Sunday, and is closed on Mondays.

BGC

Free. The ArtBGC murals are on two mapped routes of 10 and 12 works, from Burgos Circle to Serendra. Some pieces have been decommissioned, so treat the map as a guide. The walk is outdoors and needs a dry evening.

Under ₱500. The Mind Museum is a science museum with a planetarium, open Tuesday to Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM.

₱500 to ₱1,500. Brick Wall Comedy Club at Uptown Parade is the home base of Comedy Manila, with stand-up, open mics and trivia nights; check what is on that night. The gondola ride at Venice Grand Canal was ₱500 a person at 2023 to 2024 prices. It is at McKinley Hill, a short ride from the BGC core and not walkable.

A drink after. Bank Bar is a speakeasy entered from behind a convenience store, open until 1 AM.

Makati

Under ₱500. Ayala Museum shows pre-colonial gold and dioramas, Tuesday to Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. On a weekend, Salcedo Saturday Market and Legazpi Sunday Market each run from about 7 AM to 2 PM, which makes Valentine's a breakfast date. Ayala Triangle Gardens is a free park with live performances.

₱500 to ₱1,500. Greenbelt 3 cinemas has six screens, including 4DX and A-Luxe, and reopened on 17 December 2025. It is the indoor fallback if it rains.

After. The Blind Pig is billed as Manila's first speakeasy, with a Braille sign on the door. Taquería Franco serves French-accented tacos, holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and is open to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Pasay Bay Area

Free. MOA Sky is a rooftop park on SM MOA with viewing decks. The Seaside Blvd esplanade is an open walk for the Manila Bay sunset. The fountain show at Okada Manila runs every 30 minutes from 7 PM, to midnight from Friday to Sunday; Okada is in Entertainment City, Parañaque, a ride from MOA.

₱500 to ₱1,500. Museo del Galeón opened on 1 May 2026 with a full-scale 17th-century galleon to board; it is ticketed and indoors. Star City is a theme park in the CCP Complex, open Wednesday to Sunday.

₱1,500 and up. Newport Performing Arts Theater has shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Newport is a ride from MOA.

Check the day of the week, then build the night

Closed days, by the day the 14th falls on:

• Monday: the 3D art museum, Habanero Kitchen Bar and Best of Luck in Cubao are closed. The science museum in BGC and the museum in Makati are open Tuesday to Sunday only. The theme park is shut.
• Tuesday: the theme park is still shut.
• Friday or Saturday: the widest choice. The theatre has an 8 PM show, the fountain runs to midnight and the taqueria is open late.
• Saturday or Sunday morning: one of the two Makati markets.
• Sunday: the theatre's show is a 3 PM matinee.
