Kanto Freestyle Breakfast and the Last Stop of a Poblacion Night
Kanto Freestyle Breakfast is a casual spot on P. Burgos in Poblacion, Makati, and a possible last stop for a night out there. Look at its own page for tonight's hours before you plan around it, and build the rest of the night from rooms with known closing times: Apotheka runs until 4am and Pablo Bistro in Salcedo serves until midnight.
Why the last stop needs a backup
Poblacion is the latest-running part of Makati, with bars open until between 2am and 4am and food available around the clock. Late plates run ₱150 to ₱350. A night that depends on one counter being open can still end at a closed door at 2am, so give it a backup.
So the plan below treats the breakfast stop as a bonus. If it is open, the night ends there. If it is not, the night still ends well.
What runs late
These Poblacion rooms have a known closing time or run late.
- Apotheka, 5672 Doña Carmen: a club with underground electronic nights and monthly drag balls, open until 4am. It is loud.
- Dr. Wine Rooftop: an open-air rooftop for wine and sangria, running to 1am or 2am.
- OTO, 5883 Enriquez: a listening bar with vinyl, DJ sets and cocktails, open until 1am.
- The Spirits Library at 4963 Guerrero and Run Rabbit Run at 4991 P. Guanzon: both cocktail bars, both running late.
All of these pour drinks, so eat before you start.
The late kitchens in Salcedo
The latest sit-down meals are in Salcedo, in the business district next door.
Pablo Bistro at Picasso Boutique, 119 LP Leviste, serves tapas, paella and sangria until midnight. It is Michelin Selected and runs ₱1,500 and up a head.
Taquería Franco at LPL Center on San Agustin St serves French-accented tacos, holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and stays open to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Expect ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head.
Both stop at midnight at the latest, so they suit a late dinner or the first half of the night, not the final stop.
A night that does not hinge on one counter
- 8pm, dinner in Poblacion. A full meal, not a snack. La Pita and Super Uncle Claypot both run ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head. Options are in where to eat before the bars.
- 9:30pm to 1am, the bars. Two or three stops, with OTO done before its 1am close. The order is in the Poblacion bar crawl.
- 1am, decide. Either the night ends here, or it moves to Apotheka until 4am.
- The last stop. If a late plate is the plan, head to Kanto Freestyle Breakfast on P. Burgos. If it is closed, the fallback is home.
The other way round also works on a Friday or Saturday: bars first, then a ride to Salcedo for tacos at Taquería Franco before midnight, as the meal that closes the night.
What the night costs
A Poblacion night runs roughly ₱800 to ₱2,000 a head, with cocktails at ₱300 to ₱555. A sit-down dinner at La Pita or Super Uncle Claypot, two cocktails and a late plate add up to ₱1,250 to ₱2,960 a head, so skip a round if the budget is nearer ₱2,000. The Salcedo kitchens cost more at the top end: Pablo Bistro alone is ₱1,500 and up a head.
Getting home
The sidewalks in Poblacion are narrow and the walk between venues is outdoors, so in the rain every hop is exposed. Book the ride from inside the last venue and wait there, not on the kerb.
