Makati Date Ideas: Six Evenings from Legazpi to Poblacion
Makati is two date districts side by side: the business district of Legazpi, Salcedo, Greenbelt and the Ayala Triangle, where the night is built around dinner, and Poblacion, where it is built around bars. The six Makati date ideas below run from a museum afternoon with dinner at Manam at the Triangle to a one-star tasting menu at Kása Palma, sorted by mood and by spend.
How the two halves differ
The business district draws office professionals, older couples and hotel guests for a polished evening. Its villages have shaded sidewalks and parks, its kitchens close at 10 to 11pm and its bars at 1 to 2am. A night there runs roughly ₱1,200 to ₱3,500 a head.
Poblacion is younger, later and less planned. Bars run until between 2am and 4am, the sidewalks are narrow and a night runs roughly ₱800 to ₱2,000 a head. It is also the worse of the two in the rain.
Pick the half first. Then pick the evening.
Three evenings in the business district
1. The museum and dinner. Mood: easy, daytime into dusk. Start at Ayala Museum by 4pm. It shows pre-colonial gold and dioramas and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm. Go on to Ayala Triangle Gardens, which is free to enter, then eat at Manam at the Triangle, a Bib Gourmand kitchen for Filipino comfort food at the Triangle. Spend: under ₱500 a head for the museum and ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head for dinner. The full plan is in the museum date with dinner after.
2. The rain-proof film night. Mood: low effort, bad weather. Coffee at Omotesando Koffee in Greenbelt 2, a film at Greenbelt 3 cinemas, which has six screens including 4DX and A-Luxe, and Thai dinner at People's Palace. Greenbelt 2, 3 and 4 link by a covered walkway on the second level. Spend: about ₱2,000 a head or more, most of it dinner. Details are in a Greenbelt cinema date.
3. Two hidden doors. Mood: a little theatre. Dinner first, then Big Fuzz, behind a red door on the second floor of Creekside Mall, then The Blind Pig, behind a door with a Braille sign at Windsor Tower on Legazpi St. Both bars run ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head. The order and the reasons for it are in the speakeasies of Makati.
One evening in Salcedo
4. Tacos and wine. Mood: unhurried, talkative. Taquería Franco at LPL Center on San Agustin St serves French-accented tacos and holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. It is open to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, which is late for a district where most kitchens close at 10 to 11pm. Follow it with a glass at Good Morning Wines, a Salcedo wine bar named in Tatler Best Bars 2026.
On another night of the week, swap the tacos for Kodawari, an izakaya known for gyudon that is open until 11pm. Spend: both restaurants and the wine bar run ₱500 to ₱1,500 a head. More tables are in Salcedo restaurants for a quiet date.
Two evenings in Poblacion
5. Rooftop, dinner, records. Mood: loose, with room to go late. Open with a glass at Dr. Wine Rooftop, an open-air rooftop for wine and sangria. Come down for dinner at La Pita, which holds a Bib Gourmand for Middle Eastern food. End at OTO, a listening bar with vinyl and DJ sets, before it closes at 1am. Spend: the rooftop runs ₱1,500 and up a head, and the other two ₱500 to ₱1,500. This one needs a dry night.
6. The splurge. Mood: an occasion. Kása Palma at 6042 Palma St holds one Michelin star, and its tasting menus run ₱6,500 to ₱8,500. Afterwards, one cocktail at The Spirits Library, which placed No. 98 on the Asia's Best Bars 2026 extended list. In the business district, the equivalent is Helm, with two Michelin stars and seasonal set menus. Both are covered in romantic restaurants in Makati for an anniversary.
Choosing between them

- Rain: evening 2. Nothing else on this list is as well covered.
- Something to tell friends about: evening 3.
- A long conversation: evening 4.
- No fixed end time: evening 5.
- An anniversary: evening 6.
